With This Ring, I Thee Bed ReviewAn anthology by Alison Tyler
Prolific anthologist and erotic writer in her own right Alison Tyler returns to the world of erotic fiction anthologies with her latest collection, With This Ring I Thee Bed. As you might guess from the title, this anthology centers itself around the institution of marriage and those who enter into that union. Within the two dozen stories, a stellar lineup of erotic fiction writers ltake a look at all aspects of marriage and married couples. The stories range from pre-wedding day trysts, such as in Saskia Walker's "One last Time" all the way to the Kristina Lloyd's "Seven Year Itch", which shows that a couple, seven years into marriage, can still have a hot and sexy relationship if they want.
The heat of the stories collected here ranges from slow burns to furious and sizzling. The protagonists range from an intimate meeting between man and wife (both forthcoming, and long since) to wild pairings of three or even more coming together.
More than a few stories look at the more humorous side of the institution. Michael Hemmingson's "The Wedding Stoppers", is an unpredictable laugh fest in its conclusion, as madcap as anything in Wedding Crashers.
My favorite stories, in addition to the ones above, happen to deal with the prelude to marriage. They include N.T. Morley's "Strippers and Cigars", where a customary twist brings a human element to the standby of the Bachelor Party., and ADR Forte's "Rites of Passage" , where a wife to be puts a husband through some unexpected paces before the big day.
Besides the authors already mentioned, authors such as Sommer Marsden, Thomas Roche, Jax Baynard and Alison herself have offerings for your delectation.
Really, though, this is a solid collection with something for all readers to enjoy. Conversely, that means there will be stories here you won't care for, but what you should care about is that the stories are all well written and the anthology admirably composed. With This Ring, I Thee Bed Overview
