The Taste of Home Cookbook: Cooks Who Care Edition ReviewI bought this as a gift for a bachelor friend that is a little wary about cooking actual meals. I've made some dishes from it and have made my own recipes based off some of the included recipes. I think it does a great job of keeping the ingredient list to easily found grocery items. The tags separating the sections is helpful to getting to what sort of meal you want. The ingredient index is also really helpful for finding a recipe that will use up that leftover ground turkey, or whatever else you have sitting in your fridge. My bachelor friend is still a bit intimidated by the recipes, always saying he doesn't have all the ingredients, and that he doesn't have awesome cooking skills, but I'm sure I'll make him come around to using it.
The downsides - like most cookbooks (maybe all) it doesn't have every single basic recipe in it. There also is not any nutritional information for the recipes.
Upsides - Handy splashguard to keep the page clean while you're cooking up a storm. Free issues of the Taste of Home magazine with the purchase (opt out of the subscription when the time comes.)
