Bring the Ring ReviewThis book contains two novels: Summer Mahogany & Valley of the Vapors
Summer Mahogany
Ten years after a sizzling summer romance, rich and handsome Rhyder Owens is back in Maine and back in Gina Gaynes life to take care of some unfinished business. Older and wiser, Gina thought she was long over their attraction, but Rhyder has different ideas. The bond they formed years ago maybe too strong to break legally and emotionally.
Valley of the Vapors
Tisha Caldwell moves in with her aunt to get away from her loving, but controlling, father. She wants to spread her wings and concentrate on her art. Raorke Madison is the sexy architect neighbor that trys to avoid young Tisha's hints. One thing leads to another and good ole old-fashioned dad catches them in an inappropriate position. Under pressure from daddy, Roarke agrees to marry Tisha, but Tisha has other ideas. How far is this farce engagement going to go?
This book wasn't as good as the other two by Dailey (Ranch Dressing and Try To Resist Me). I personally don't get the whole forced-marriage concept in a contemporary novel. I mean this isn't a regency historical were reputations are at stake. Both stories lose a little credibility by having their characters act like they don't have choices in this day and age. I was particularly annoyed at the Vapors story because Tisha is such a whiny character and can't make up her mind about anything including if she loves Roarke -and I'm not sure Dailey proved that she really did.
Skip this one and get the other two (Ranch Dressing and Try To Resist Me) instead -they're much better. Or if you want something beautifully written and a historical anthology get A Gift of Love by Deveraux et al. For some steamy anthologies, all the 'Bad Boys' are pretty good.Bring the Ring Overview
