Thinking in Circles: An Essay on Ring Composition (The Terry Lectures Series) ReviewI am a classics MA student at the University of Kentucky. I used this book to explore the ideas of ring composition in Hellenistic era epic poetry for a paper I wrote. Mary Douglas does a good job of laying out the concepts and giving an overview. Her analysis of biblical narrative is also quite intriguing although I disagree with her interpretive conclusions. It is worth noting that Douglas is admittedly an anthropologist not an ancient literary critic.
