Big Brass Ring the ReviewOne of the best, most bizarre screenplays I've ever read -- full of insights on politics and the human condition, rendered in an entertaining form (though I don't see how this could have ever been the mass audience success Welles envisioned). My question is, how could Welles in the early 1980s have possibly depicted John Kerry so ... well, so 'well'?The afterward by Jonathan Rosenbaum is also full of touching, poignant details about the writing of the script. Please Jonathan, write a whole book!
What a great pity Jack Nicholson turned the film down for not offering him enough money ($2 mill plus 10% of profits!). Can you imagine how great Nicholson and Welles would have been together?
