Survival Run (Ring of Evil #2) (Hardy Boys Casefiles, Case 77) ReviewSURVIVAL RUN is a cheesy book comparative to a low budget action flick... Dixon is losing imagination. Back in the good old days, Dixon wrote very good mysteries full of adventure and suspense. In this book, he's reduced to a plot including atomic bombs and cold-blooded psycho terrorists.
The storyline is typical: a group of international terrorists who've got their hands onto plans for nuclear explosives and are going to blow up the world. The Hardy Boys and a girl they've met called Gina Abend are investigating even as the top secret government Network agency and an army of dozens get ready to raid the Assassins' (very imaginative terrorist name!) base of operations. Frank and Joe are trapped and get away several times, having a lot of car/dirt bike chases, and (wow) even building hang gliders out of tents and watching a once-extinct volcano suddenly go active and blow its top (what the...?).
The book vaguely reminds the reader of Dixon's old writings as there are several scenes of action and some good details, but besides that, the book isn't that great. Get it if you're a fan of low-budget action flicks.Survival Run (Ring of Evil #2) (Hardy Boys Casefiles, Case 77) Overview
