In this book you will learn all about circles, squares, rectangles, ovals and triangles and their specific qualities. It's very easy once you've seen them, know what they are all about and have seen many examples. You will learn that "A rectangle has four sides and four corners" and that "The corners are right angles." But, when those wacky cats and monkey get out their rulers, smile, wave and really show you what a rectangle is all about, you're going to SNAP! ... understand what one is in a minute and have a smile wider than a monkey's!

For some children the ability to learn basic geometric shapes can be very difficult. This type of book is a real boon to the visual and/or auditory learner; one will benefit from the wonderfully zany illustrations in this book and the other will benefit from the fun and kooky rhymes. By the time a youngster gets through with this book, he or she should be able to identify the elements of five basic geometric shapes and have the ability to compare and contrast one with the other with ease. This is the first "Math Is Categorical" book I've read by Brian Cleary and I'm hooked. I've loved of any of his "Words Are Categorical" had the privilege to meet and highly recommend them to any parent of a reluctant learner.
