War of the Ring: The Lord of the Rings- Strategy Battle Game ReviewAll I will say is this:This book is an awesome reference, very pretty and informative, for the War of the Rings battle game variant.
Negatives are as everyone else has said. There are tons of typos, and some pieces of information that are just plain missing: enough to neccesitate downloading/printing the FAQ for the book off the Games Workshop website. Why on earth they didn't just edit the book more I'll never understand. And what really gets me is their responses. The War of the Ring rulebook does NOT do a good job of explaining the movement rules. For example, how on earth do you turn a formation around?
Thankfully, the FAQ answers this (just do an about-face for no movement cost). However, their response "we thought it was quite clear, but because of the number of confused people..." No. We're not idiots. You're just teaching us a new rules system and need to spell things out the first time. Sheesh.
So. It's an awesome book, and I love the variant game. It's all I play now. Hahahaha, never having to wait while my friend moves 50 orcs one at a time again! Phew!
